Xiaomi has made an important announcement regarding the eagerly awaited HyperOS 3.1 update for its users. The company continues its preparations for the new Android 16-based version at full speed. However, the latest news appears likely to upset some popular device owners.
Why is the HyperOS 3.1 update not coming?
The Chinese tech giant confirmed that it is developing the new intermediate version only for devices upgrading to Android 16. Therefore, many smartphones and tablets still running Android 15 will have to skip this update.
Best-selling models such as the Xiaomi 12 series, Redmi Note 13 5G, and POCO F5 Pro stand out on the list. A total of 20 different devices have been confirmed not to receive this new version. These devices will likely continue with their current versions.
